Wouldn't wanna be anybody else

Its Thursday Ya'll and that means its time to link up for Goodnight Moon's "What's your song?" This week I can't get this catchy little tune out of my head...

I love the message behind this song. Do you ever doubt the things you are capable of? Have you ever given up on your dreams for fear of failing? I know I have, and this song inspires me to keep trying when life knocks me down. There's always a way to get back up...If you put your mind to it anything is possible in this great big world. ♥

So remember, when things are tough and you're feeling down...

"You've got every right to a beautiful life...
Whos says you're not perfect?
Who says your not worth it?
Who says you're the only one that's hurting?
Trust me, that's the price of beauty...who say's you're not pretty?
Who says you're not beautiful?"
Who says?

Uninspired

Hello my bloggy loves! It's been awhile since I've written anything and I think its finally time for me to snap out of it. I've been in a little funk the past few weeks, and haven't really been inspired to write. The days have been passing by pretty quickly, (thank goodness!) and I've been spending most of my time working, which has been driving me pretty crazy. I need to find a new job and quick before I lose my mind!

In other news, we have already reached the second month of this deployment!! Woo-hoo! :) I can't believe its been 2 months since I've seen my handsome husband, and I'm praying the rest of the year passes as quickly as the last few months.

I am excited for summer to finally arrive, but the weather here in va has been pretty crazy lately. Yesterday it was 90 degrees only to turn into a crazy storm with extreme winds and rain. I was totally freaked out and definitely missing the weather back home in cali. Hopefully it'll calm down the rest of the week and it will be nice for the weekend.

I'm hoping to catch a movie on saturday with some friends and I can't decide whether to see Pirates or the Hangover 2....either way its gonna be great! :) Anyway, thank goodness tomorrow is Thursday which means the weekend is in sight! ♥

Rolling In The Deep

Thank goodness Blogger is working again and I can share the song that has been stuck in my head all week...

There's just something fierce and raw about this song...I can't get enough of it! ♥
There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark,

Finally, I can see you crystal clear,
Go ahead and sell me out and a I'll lay your shit bare,

See how I'll leave with every piece of you,
Don't underestimate the things that I will do,

There's a fire starting in my heart,
Reaching a fever pitch and it's bring me out the dark,

The scars of your love remind me of us,
They keep me thinking that we almost had it all,
The scars of your love, they leave me breathless,
I can't help feeling,

We could have had it all,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
Rolling in the deep,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),
You had my heart inside of your hand,
(You're gonna wish you never had met me),
And you played it to the beat,
(Tears are gonna fall, rolling in the deep),

Now that you've listened to my amazing song choice this week go link up at Goodnight Moon and share the song that's moving you this week, whether is happy, angry, sad, or somewhere in between. ♥

Evening Under the Stars

Today I couldn't be more excited, because not only am I off work, but I am attending the 5th annual "Evening Under the Stars" Joint Military Spouse Appreciation at the Hampton Coliseum. This event is open to milspouses from all branches of service along with reserves and spouses of retired service members.

All you need is a valid dependent military id to get in. There will be free beauty consultations, free massages, arts & crafts, jewelry designs, giveaways and much more!

If you are in the area and want to go, you can check out more info here. I can't wait to get pampered for free! I think it's really amazing that there are people out there who want to show appreciation for all the hard work and dedication we show as milspouses. We definitely deserve to be pampered once in awhile! ♥

Beauty Watch: O.P.I.

Lately I've been obsessed with nail polish...even more so than usual. I think it has something to do with summer that just makes you want to have pretty painted fingers and toes. ♥

Sunday Sarah and I got up and left the house looking like bums in an attempt to make it to Ulta right at 11 am and get some silver shatter nail polish by O.P.I. If you haven't seen this stuff it is amazing!
You simply paint your nails with whatever color you desire and let them dry. Then paint one coat of the silver shatter over the base coat and your nails will have a "shattered," look to them. (Hence the name!) I hadn't heard of this until Sarah showed me and once I saw how good it looked I was dying to get some! I thought the lady was crazy when she told us to be here right at 11 am to make sure we could get the shatter.

Boy was she right. We got there 5 minutes before 11 and there was already about 4 people waiting for them to open...they were all waiting to get this nail polish! I couldn't really believe it, but as 11 o'clock got closer more and more people showed up. It made me laugh how badly everyone wanted this nail polish! ;)
They also released the new "Pirates of the Caribbean" Collection from O.P.I. There is a color called "Mermaids Tears" that I am absolutely in LOVE with!!!
It looks so pretty on, and with the shatter on top I just love it! ♥
I can never get over how many gorgeous colors O.P.I. has! I'm excited to try out the rest of my "Pirates" Collection, and see how they look with the shatter.

Chick Flicks

Saturday after work I headed to the movies with my partner in crime, Sarah. We had been dying to see the new romantic comedy, "Something Borrowed," since we saw previews for it a couple weeks ago. If you live under a rock and haven't seen the trailer yet, you can view it here.
Although I really liked the movie, there was just something about the whole "cheating," factor that bothered me. The whole premise of the movie was that a nerdy law school student at NYU meets a handsome guy in one of her classes and has a huge crush on him. Thinking he couldn't possibly feel the same way about her, she ends up watching as the guy she's in love with starts dating her best friend.

Fast forward a couple years and the best friend and guy are about to get married, when the main character Rachel ends up hooking up with her bf's fiance. Yes, she liked him first, but does that make it ok? It just seemed a bit like the movie was glamorizing cheating. At least that's how it seemed to me.

I donno, I guess I am just old fashioned or I have a stronger "girl code," than the chicks in this movie, but I don't think I would ever have the ability to sleep with my best friend's fiance. I would just feel so awful! It was still a cute movie, and was pretty hysterical but I felt like it could have been better. Kate Hudson was pretty obnoxious the entire movie, and really made you want to slap her at times!
Oh well, at least John Krasinski was in it and looking pretty handsome. ;)
I really loved his style in this film, he had a more clean cut look instead of his usual goofy hair. Plus those Ray Bans look so good on him!♥

Anyway...I'm not sure it sent the right message, but I did like it none the less. You definitely need to see it if you haven't, because it WILL make you laugh your butt off. :)

I don't wanna know

I dont want to know the reasons why
Love keeps right on walking down the line
I dont want to stand between you and love
Honey, I just want you to feel fine
Finally baby
The truth has come down now
Take a listen to your spirit
Its crying out loud.
This song has been playing on repeat since I watched this weeks episode of "Glee," which paid tribute to Fleetwood Mac's album "Rumours." Pretty much every song they sang on the show was amazing but this one is just so catchy, I can't stop singing it! ♥

Go link up over at Goodnight Moon and tell us what song you're loving this week.

Weekend Fun

I can't believe the weekend is over already! Where did it go? I guess I should be thankful that the days are passing quickly, but at the same time I wish I had some more "me" time to relax.

Friday morning when I was up getting ready for work, I turned on the tv to see Katie Couric in London talking about the "Royal Wedding," and I was sooo sad that I was gonna miss it because I had to work all day. Of course I got off work late, and had my buddy Sarah over for pizza and some girl talk. :)

Sadly I had to get up and go to work on Saturday, and it literally took me half an hour to get up and out of bed. I was so EXHAUSTED!!! I feel like I have been going and going lately, but unlike the energizer bunny I'm starting to slow down and lose my energy! Luckily I was able to take a nap and then catch a special on the Royal Wedding after I woke up.
Thank goodness for MSNBC! They went over practically every detail of the wedding, so even though I was a day late I still got to see this memorable moment in history. I absolutely adored Kate's dress and couldn't believe how gorgeous she was.
She looked like something out of a fairy tale and I thought the whole affair was just lovely. ♥ I especially liked when they kissed on the balcony. :)
Once i had my fill of all the sappy romance a wedding brings, it was time to get ready for a night out with Sarah. We headed to Guadalajaras for some Mexican food and some margaritas! :) We had an awesome time and even got some free drinks!
Sarah even had a shot of tequila for me! ;)
We ended up staying for a few hours before going to rent some movies and have a sleep over at Sarah's house. By the end of the night I was soooooo tired, and we literally fell asleep in about ten seconds!

I was a little bummed cause my hubby had been trying to call me all night while we were sleeping, but my phone was on vibrate and I was so tired that I didn't even hear it! It was ok though cause luckily he called back later on and I was able to talk to him for awhile. ♥ After we got ready and dressed for the day we headed out to run some errands and do a little shopping. I think the two of us is a deadly combination in the shopping department. I think we both need to find a "shopaholics anonymous" here in va beach, lol! I really love hanging out with Sarah and feel very lucky to have made such a good friend out here. We laugh a lot and always have a great time! :)

I am also proud to say that my hubby and I have been very good about trying to save and pay off all of our credit cards. We have already paid off three since he left and only have a few more. Luckily they are pretty small amounts and we are canceling a few of them so we don't get into more debt in the future. It feels soooo good to be on our way to being DEBT FREE!!!! Woo-hoo!! :) Anyway my loves, its almost my bed time and since I have another early and long work day tomorrow I must say good night! Hope you all had a great weekend! :o)
