I'm literally going to scream! I absolutely hate bugs and apparently Virginia is full of them...and no my dears, these aren't regular, normal sized bugs! Everything here is freakishly ginormous...and I swear to you, I have been running around my house like a crazy woman with a can of raid for the past two weeks. Let me just give you the run down of what I have encountered so far...
After the flash flood on my street and tornado warnings last week my house has been full of crickets! They come out at night and I am not kidding you I have seen as many as 7 or 8 at a time in my living room on the floor!!! Ughhhhhh!! Its so disgusting, and creeps me out soooo bad. I know they are harmless, but they are NASTY looking things, and I DO NOT want those damn bugs "hanging out" in my house! It drives me nuts!
Not only has there been crickets everywhere, but I have also noticed a bunch of spiders...just the other day I was showering and what do I see but a spider, CRAWLING down my leg!! Oh my Lord, I FREAKED out and luckily I smacked it off and killed it asap! Then just this morning I was going into my kitchen to get some cinnamon toast crunch for breakfast, when I saw another HUGE spider crawling on my carpet! Eeeeeeeeeekkkk!! I tried smashing it with my flip flop, but that bugger was so huge, it still wasn't dead. Thank God for my trusty can of raid!
Now along with these lovely critters there are also some red ants that have camped out on my front porch and decided to build an ant hill! How sweet of them!! As if there aren't enough bugs IN my house, now they are camping out on my porch as well!!! And then there are the WONDERFUL and hugely disgusting bugs that live in the huge trees on my street. I do not know what these bugs are called, but they make a loud, obnoxious buzzing noise and it just makes my skin crawl....I seriously have the heebee geebees right now...I miss California!!!! The bugs there were so much less obnoxious and huge! :( Sad day....
I feel your pain. Apparently cockroaches and crickets really like our apartment. UGH
ReplyDeleteI fricking HATE crickets! And those disgusting bugs that make the obnoxious noises are most likely cicadas, which I also hate. Oh, and you can get fire ant killer at home depot/ lowes!

Gross... maybe you could try bug bombing your house. We do that from time to time to keep the bugs out.

ReplyDeleteHAHAHA love the post above me!!! Have you talked to maintance about your bug problem?? Maybe they could make sure there are no holes anywhere that they are getting in. The only bug problem we ever had was ants, so i'm not sure about the rest. Good luck though!! Bugs gross me out as well :/
ReplyDeleteWhen I was living in my trash-tastic apartment we had a real buggy problem too. Home depot sells bug repellent stuff, so I sprayed it along all the walls of my apartment and it worked very well. We would only have a spider here and there. You've got to try that stuff to save your sanity!

Ick! Bugs give me the heebeegeebee's too! I can't stand them! Hope they start disappearing soon - or just get mass quantities of bug killer!
ReplyDeleteI lived in at least 3 different places all over that area of Virginia, and each place brought different bugs. My most recent adventure was house centipedes. Ugh, those are nasty! And they came in through the ceiling somehow?
ReplyDeleteAbout those loud bugs -- I just moved from Norfolk to Pensacola, and man those are soooo much louder here! All hours of the day and night. (Maybe it's just quieter here so I can hear them more? but Yikes!)
Hope you don't see any freakishly giant cockroaches...but you probably will.
Ugh, I totally know what you mean! I absolutely hate it! We have tons of spiders and I'm going to go to the store and spray the crap out of our doors and windows. I can't sleep in the same room as a bug that's alive. Honestly! The bugs here are huge too. I pretty much ran like a 5 year old girl to get away from a praying mantis. Ha ha
ReplyDeleteNo offense, but thank god! I thought I was the only one having this problem! My house is covered in freaking spiders!! Not to mention a darn wasp nest by my front window! I went out to the store last night, came home to a mammoth sized spider on the front porch!!! YUCK!!!
