Jersey Whores!

Why does it seem like reality TV these days keeps getting trashier and trashier? I never watched the MTV show "Jersey Shore" last year, but I'll admit my husband got me sucked into watching it this year. All I can say is that the people on this show are complete low life whores! And no, I'm not just talking about the girls...the guys are Man-Whores too! Is it just me or does anyone else find it completely disgusting that these individuals like to bring home random people every night to sleep with...??? Have these people ever heard of a thing called stds? Yuckkkkk!!!
Not only is this show degrading to women everywhere, it seems to keep portraying a huge double standard about it being considered "cool" or "manly" for guys to bring home a different girl every night, but when a girl does the same, she is automatically branded as a slut! I don't get why it's ok for one gender and not the other, to me it just doesn't make sense! I mean I consider sleeping around with people you meet at clubs as pretty skanky whether you're a guy or girl, but the guys on the show continually bag on the girls for doing exactly what they do all the time.
The biggest hypocrite of them all is Mike, aka "The Situation." He is a pathetic and sad excuse for a "Man" and seriously makes me sick!!! He is always trying to stir up drama and is constantly calling Angelina the "Staten Island Ferry," and say's, "Everybody gets a free ride!" Now I'll admit, yes this is pretty funny but it still makes no sense considering how many girls he sleeps with in one week!

So why do we still watch this show you ask? Most the time I don't know why, but I can tell you one thing...its like every other trashy reality tv show...its so horrible that its like witnessing a car accident. You know you should look away but for some reason you can't help but stop and stare. I wonder how these people can hold their heads up knowing that the whole world has had a front row seat of their promiscuity? What will their children say when they grow up and find out their parents slept with anyone they came across at a club? All I know is that this is a sad,sad world they live in, and its definitely NOT reality!

Fall Favorites Swap! :)

Ok so I've been a major slacker in posting about this, but I'm finally doing it! :) The fabulous Jessica from "Mis Adventures of an Army Wife" was my swap partner and she did an AMAZING job picking out some goodies for me! I loved, loved, loved everything she sent me...here, take a peek!
My package was awesome and consisted of a pin up mystery novel (which I can't wait to read!), a cute little pumpkin candle, some mulling spice and maple leaf cookies from trader joe's, (which I was so psyched about cause I LOVE TRADER JOE'S!!!) and a halloween magazine and a starbucks gift card!! And it came in this adorable fall themed box, which I am definitely gonna use as decoration! :)
It goes without saying that Jessica spoiled me rotten and I just wanna say thank you Jessica! :) Also a big thanks to Nicole for hosting the swap! It was a great idea and I can't wait for the next one. ♥

What do you think?

Ok, so I have an important story/question for you all...we just recently moved and I have been on the look out for a good church for awhile now. Its been really hard on me living so far from my home, family, friends and being out of my comfort zone in general, and I feel like I have sort of drifted into this desperate and miserable place. I haven't really been blogging much lately because most of the time I can't think of anything positive to say, so I decided it was finally time to get off my keister and find us a church.

One of my co-workers and I were talking about our beliefs one day over lunch and I shared with her that I am a Christian and in desperate need of a good church to call home. She shared with me an amazing story about how she became a believer and told me about her church, so I thought..."Ok, why not give it a try?" I did some research online and checked out their statement of faith and what they were about. It seemed like a great church and I was excited to go and see what it was all about with my own eyes.

So I brought my hubby along on Sunday and hoped for the best...and I LOVED it! The worship was amazing and very moving, and the atmosphere was one of excitement and a very welcoming feeling. I was really enjoying it and then we find out that the head pastor is gone speaking at another church in Texas, and a woman (whom I believe to be his wife) got up and gave the message. Now, being a newer christian I was not aware that this was taboo, but apparently my husband did not agree with this. He was a little upset and when we talked about it afterward I was pretty bummed because I really loved the service. So here is my question to you all...

I know that the bible makes some mention of women teaching women as all right, but not when it comes to teaching men. Call me dense, but I don't really understand what the big deal is...I mean, yes she did give the message on Sunday, but she is not the regular pastor, so why is it such an issue? I know things are in the bible for a reason, and there has to be some meaning to this but I'm wondering if this still applies in today's culture or if it was more of something that was frowned upon during the biblical time period? I'm just looking for some in put and advice because I really liked the church and want to go back again today for the Wednesday night service, but I'm just unsure if this is where I should be going. Like I said before I am a newer Christian, and although I have always believed in God I didn't grow up in church and I don't know everything there is to know about the bible, however there is one thing I do know...

I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins, so that I may have eternal life and be forgiven. He paid the ultimate price for you, for me, and every human being in this world and was the only person to walk this earth and not be guilty of sin. I know that my heavenly father loves me regardless of what mistakes I have made in the past or the ones I will make in the future, and that got me thinking....

Do you think Jesus cares whether I am a male or a female as long as I am spreading his gospel? Should it matter any more than the fact of whether I am black, white, asian, hispanic etc? I know that our one true purpose on this earth is to share the good news with others and lead by example, to live our lives in a Christ like way to the best of our abilities and help others who are struggling in this thing we call life. So I'm asking you, according to scripture and what goes on in your own churches...was it wrong for that woman to deliver the message at church this Sunday? I understand that what the bible says is important and thats why this is a heavy issue on my heart, but a part of me keeps thinking, "This is 2010! Is it seriously wrong for a woman to deliver a message in church?"

I was pretty amazed when I found out this was looked down upon but I know that I need to be open minded and follow scripture, so I was just hoping for some feed back. What are your thoughts? Any advice/thoughts will be greatly appreciated, but please don't leave me a negative comment. I realize not all of my readers may be Christians but this is my Faith and I am just trying to navigate my way through the many hurdles life leaves in my path...Thanks for reading and for any advice, its much appreciated! :)

Bleehhh...

Today is one of those days, not necessarily a bad day, but not a great one either. I'll admit, I'm a little bummed today because I finally have my first bank holiday (not to mention  a 3 day weekend, thanks Columbus!), and of course my hubby has duty....booooo! Does anyone else hate duty as much as I do? ;) I understand why its important but it just always seems to fall on the most annoying days! I haven't been feeling too well the past few days and I hope I'm not coming down with a cold...so today I'm just taking it easy and trying to relax. Maybe I'll watch a good movie, but for now I've been indulging in some trashy tv (aka teen mom) and hopefully I can get out of this funk and feel better! :) I hope everyone else is having a wonderful Holiday!Ciao!!

Sometimes My Heart Just Breaks...

Last night my cell phone rang and the screen lit up with my older sister's photo. I started to smile cause I had been thinking about calling her all day when I was at work, and when I answered I heard my little angel's voice...my niece Bailey had called me to tell me that she had a dream about me. Apparently she misses me so much that she woke up crying and asking for me to come home and visit her.
When I heard her tell me this, my eyes filled up with tears and my voice began to crack. I can't even imagine how it will feel once I have my own children, but my nieces are the closest things to my heart. They are my love bugs, my angels, my babies...and I LOVE them sooooo much it hurts sometimes.
My biggest fear is that they will forget about me and all the good times we've shared, and most of all I'm afraid they'll forget how much I love them. I knew I was going to miss them, but I had no idea how hard it was going to be living so far away. I know that this is what our life consists of, and I know we gave up having any say in a lot of things in our life when my husband joined the navy...but sometimes it still gets to me. On days like yesterday when my little angel called me in tears telling me to come home, my heart just broke because I don't know how to explain to her that I can't...
So I spent the rest of my evening in tears and feeling terribly homesick...I'm counting down the months until I get to go home and visit all the people I love...♥ Until then, I'll be seeing you angels...

Even after a rainy day, I have a smile on my face!

Lets just start by saying today was a looooooooonnnnggggg day! I've been up since 4 am and had to work all day trying to complete my training at the bank. Let me just say that I have NEVER done so much web based training in my ENTIRE life!! Its freezing in the office I'm training in and I'm all by my lonesome...so I like to call it the dungeon! lol! Other than that things are going great! :) I'm so anxious to complete my training and get out there and help people...Hopefully next week I'll be done and I can actually start in my position.

On another note I hardly slept at all last night and I somehow managed to sleep in a weird position because my neck has been hurting all day!! Grrrrr! Other than that, things are good and I am just enjoying my night, being a bum on the couch in my hubby's pt sweater. I love wearing it when he has duty and I'm missing him. Does that make me a weirdo? lol. I'm so happy to be home snuggling with my fur baby and watching One Tree Hill. :) For now thats all I have to write about but I am super excited for the Fall Favorites Swap going on over at Flip Flops & Combat Boots and I can't wait to start shopping for my partners package! :) Its gonna be so much fun....Are you participating? I hope you've all had a great Wednesday and you have a smile on your face too! :)

I want to get away...

Lately I've been trying to fight off the travel bug, but I just can't help it anymore...I want to explore the East Coast and see something fabulous! I was thinking maybe Washington D.C.
Or perhaps Philadelphia...
Or Maybe New York City?
The possibilities are endless! Too bad I just started a new job and won't have any time off for awhile.... :( Oh well....A girl can dream right? ♥ What are some great places you've visited along the East coast?

Like a Ghost...

Thats how I've been feeling lately in regards to my blog. I know I have been majorly slacking when it comes to writing every day, or even twice a week for that matter! I started my new job on Monday and have been working almost everyday since, and I'll admit its an adjustment having to get up and work all day as well as come home & clean the house, make dinner, and spend time with my husband. I guess I'm going to have to learn to juggle a little better and manage my time more efficiently. In other news I am loving my new job at the bank and I think I am going to fit in really well there. :) I'm so thankful that the Lord helped me get such a good job!

I promise I am going to try and be better about blogging more regularly and also I wanted to say a big thank you to all my lovely followers, old and new, that have continued reading even through my dry spells. Also there are a ton of new followers who's links do not show up when I try to locate your blogs, so if you could be so kind as to leave me a comment with your blog urls I would greatly appreciate it! I would love to start following all your blogs! :) Now I'm off to enjoy the rest of my day with my hubby and Mr. & Mrs. Gambizzle!! I hope everyone has a beautiful and blessed weekend!! ♥ You'll be hearing from me soon and I may just be hosting another giveaway!! ♥

Happy First Day of Fall!!!

There has been so much going on this last week I've hardly had time to blog, but I just had to share this with you all! :) I recently bought a few things to make our house more homey and to celebrate fall.
I got this adorable tablecloth and and napkins for our table. I also got a cute candle holder and pumpkin spice candle to go inside and I love the way it all came together! :)
I even got some adorable leaf napkin holders...their so cute! ♥
I think my Mom would be proud, cause she is always coming up with pretty table decorations. :) As for the rest of my week it has been pretty great so far. I started my new job on Monday and I am loving it! I'll still be training for the next two to three weeks, but I feel so blessed to finally be working again. :) I loved being able to have free time and stay home but most of the time I was bored, so I'm very happy to be contributing again and be going to work every day. In other exciting news, I found out that my husband will be home for us to attend the annual Navy Ball!! I'm so excited and now I just have to decide what to wear seeing as its in three weeks!! Eeeeeekkkk!!
