I haven't linked up for "What's your song," in a long time so I thought I'd share this one. Lately I've been having a hard time sleeping so I was looking for some soothing music to help me relax. I really love Enya and after listening to some new artists on Pandora I came across this song. 

Her name is Hayley Westenra and she's from New Zealand. In short she is AMAZING! Her voice is so beautiful to me it sounds like an angel. It's just so....effortless. ♥ I hope you enjoy! And don't forget to go link up with Goodnight Moon. Happy Thursday loves. ♥

Since the very first time I heard this song it's been stuck in my head, and the more I hear it the more I love it. For me a song is so much more than a beat or background music or even the singer's voice. It's about the lyrics...the words that touch your heart and make you reach for something more.

This song makes me feel inspired, like I can do anything I set my mind to...INCLUDING overcoming all the odds the navy and this neverending deployment throw my way.

I want to succeed, I want to survive and sometimes I feel like I am drowning and just trying to stay above water, when I know I was meant to fly.

There are things I do subconsciously that affect my life (and the people in it) without me realizing it. I want to move forward in the right direction and make a change for the better. 

I want to fly...Here's to that.

So remember a few days ago when I mentioned my hubby was up for Blue Jacket of the Year for his ship?? Well, HE WON!!!! 

I am so incredibly proud of my husband for all his hard work and dedication this past year and for the simple fact that he has made a positive outcome from this deployment. Congrats Baby!

Lately I've been listening to my Michael Buble station on pandora before I go to sleep each night. I can never get tired of his silky smooth voice and sexy smile... ;) This song makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and makes me miss my husband even more than I already do, if that's even possible.

The words seem kind or eerily perfect for our situation right now. He has had the opportunity to visit amazing places and see beautiful things, but all he wants to do is come home to me. And that's all I can dream about. Until we meet again my love, know I'll be seeing you in my dreams each night.

 Today I found out for sure, straight from the horses mouth that I won't be seeing my husband until next year. It's official and now I am asking for prayers so that my husband and I can both have the strength to get through the next seven months. We're going to need it.

This song has been playing on repeat since I watched this weeks episode of "Glee," which paid tribute to Fleetwood Mac's album "Rumours." Pretty much every song they sang on the show was amazing but this one is just so catchy, I can't stop singing it! ♥

Whats My Song? Everything

Today I am feeling Happy Go Lucky so I thought I'd choose a song that best describes how good I'm feeling. ♥ Those of you who've been following me for awhile probably know about my love affair with Michael Buble...and for those of you who didn't know, well now you do!

I mean who could resist this face? Throw in his voice and this girl's in L-O-V-E!

Whats My Song? "All by myself"

Recently I was sitting alone in my apartment, eating some ice cream and watching Bridget Jones's Diary in an attempt to cheer myself up. I've been feeling blue lately and that movie always makes me laugh hysterically, so I figured it was worth a shot. There's a scene in the movie where Miss Jones is drinking a bottle of wine alone in her apartment and she's listening to Celine Dion's "All By Myself" and singing it at the top of her lungs. 

Although its sad (and a little bit tragic!), it's still pretty funny and I couldn't help but laugh and picture myself doing the same thing. Sometimes it's hard being alone. And although I am married and have already found the love of my life, he is never around. The last two years have been the hardest of my life and sometimes I get so tired of being "All By Myself." 

There are just those days when I need his arms around me and a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen and tell me "it will all be ok." There are times that I miss him so much that my heart literally aches and no matter how much I try to stay busy or distracted it's like there is a piece of me that's missing. I can't really explain it any better than that. Its an awful feeling, and I'm trying to overcome it. I definitely don't want to spend the next 10 months crying myself to sleep every night and listening to this song!

Last night I was watching my dvr and catching up on "Glee" from Tuesday night when this song came on the show....so I took that as a sign from the Universe that THIS SONG just HAD to be my selection this week for Goodnight Moon's link up. Obviously somebody around here is trying to tell me something, and I don't know whether it's a good or bad thing! lol!

What's My Song? You Got Me

Its almost Thursday my loves and since I have work all day tomorrow and no longer trust "scheduling" posts, that means it's time to share with you the song that has been bouncing around my head this week...For those of you who've been following my blog for awhile you probably already know about my obsession with Colbie Calliat. 

 I've loved her ever since her cd "Coco" came out a few years back, and my husband and I just so happened to have our first dance to her song, "Lucky." Her voice is silky smooth, and all the melodies in her songs make me want to smile from ear to ear. In short, I think she's AMAZING! ♥ 

So this week I chose a song that I used to listen to alot last year when my husband was deployed. Since he recently deployed again, it's been stuck in my head. They played it in the movie "Leap Year" with Amy Adams, whom I also adore. ♥ I happen to love that movie as well, and if you haven't seen it you're missing out.
