Beauty Watch: Summer Love List

Since summer has arrived and is in full swing, I thought I'd compile a list of beauty essentials  I'm loving this season. ♥

With the sun blazing and humidity in full force, the first thing on my list would have to be my hot tools waver.

Have I mentioned how much I love this styling tool? If you don't have one, you need it!

This waver is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! It's super easy to use and gives you fabulous waves.

. I love doing my hair this way if I know I'm going to be outside a lot. 

Its perfect for a summer cook out or a day on the beach. 

 The humidity here in va beach makes it nearly impossible for me to wear my hair straight during the summer 

time, so this is a great alternative for those of you with the same problem.

Next on my list would have to be the NYX "Nude on Nude" Palette. 

Not only does this handy little collection come with 9 natural shades for your eyes and 2 lip glosses, but its very compact and easy to take on the go.

 I love using three or four shades together and I like the fact that there are a few "shimmery" shades as well as some "matte" shades. 

The pull out lip gloss tray is genius, and the colors are gorgeous! ♥ 

When it comes to summer time, you definitely need a good lotion to keep your skin looking soft and sunkissed. 

Two of my favorites right now are Hempz Herbal Body Moisturizer and Ulta Vanilla Sugar Moisture Intense Body Butter. 

The Hempz smells like breezy floral and strawberry banana and makes your skin so soft and glowing. 

This is the lotion I use everyday! It works great for your whole body and will leave you feeling fresh and smelling summery and sweet. ♥ 

The Vanilla Sugar body butter smells amazing and has a deeper moisturizer.

I usually use it on my arms and elbows, just to add a little extra pampering for my skin. :) (sorry the pic is so small, it was the only one I could find!)

One of my favorite summer essentials this year is the "Getaway Glamour" 58 piece collection from Ulta. I am in love with all the different colors and varities I can try out. 

There are a ton of gorgeous eyes shadows as well as 8 lip gloss shades, powder, blush, bronzer, sparkly lip gloss and some black and brown eyeliner. 

Basically everything you need to look gorgeous! :)Here's a shot of me wearing one of the eyeshadows from the collection, called sage. I adore this eyeshadow!

I also can't get enough of this mac blush called "dainty." Its shimmery and light and makes your whole face glow.

The little things

Sometimes in life it's the little things that can make all the difference. Lately I've been having a hard time dealing with this deployment, and the fact that we still don't have a homecoming date has been making things extra difficult. I've had a few other things going on in my life as well and of course there is always the stress of my job, and worrying about my husband's safety to make things seem like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. 

Luckily this week I've had the chance to talk to my husband a little more and we even got to have our first skype dates during this deployment. You know you're a military spouse when you become absolutely giddy at the fact that you are able to see your husband's face while you video chat through a computer screen. To some people it may seem crazy, but seeing his smile, hearing his voice and being able to talk without having to rush makes all the difference in the world. 

Deployment, like anything in life that isn't so fun can get the best of me at times. There are days when I feel like I am losing my mind, days where I feel like I could just die of loneliness and that I can't endure another day of being without my other half...there are nights when I cry myself to sleep and pray for the strength to get through another day, and it's not always easy but somehow, just seeing my husband's handsome face and hearing his voice reminds me why I am going through all this in the  first place. I love him more than I ever thought it was possible to love someone. 

He keeps telling me that this is just a stepping stone in our lives and that it won't last forever. I know he is right, and I know that it will only make our love and our marriage stronger. ♥ I thought I'd share a photo of my handsome hubby from our skype date...

 I can't get over how good he looks! He's been working out a lot and I can definitely tell. I am one lucky girl to have such a foxy husband! ♥

Its Friday and I'm in Love

I can't believe it's already Friday, and I am positively giddy that I have made it through another week of that wretched little thing called Deployment. (This is something I definitely DO NOT love.) Two weeks and going strong...I'm hoping if I keep working so hard all summer the months will start to fly by. A girl can dream right?

Anyway, It's Friday and I'm in Love...

I really love this poem and I adore the necklace just as much...I think I know what I want for my birthday now. ♥

Then there's this little beauty...That lovely pale blue is perfect for spring time. I can just imagine wearing this with some flats and an oversized bag. It's simple yet so timeless. ♥

And you can't forget about this gorgeous satchel by Marc Jacobs...I am in L-O-V-E!!! I happen to be obsessed with polka dots and navy blue, so when I saw this bag It was love at first sight.♥

I've also been day dreaming about getting a beach cruiser since I live so close to the beach now. I'd really love to be able to take long rides along the boardwalk and enjoy all the beautiful scenery. Plus I figure it'd be good exercise!

I'm crushing over this mint green "Bella Crusier" from Chubby's One Stop Cruiser Shop back in Cali. ♥ The only thing its missing is a cute little basket to throw a beach towel and some sunscreen in.

And last but not least on my "Love List" this week is this gorgeous Montauk Nest Chair....I WANT need this chair desperately. At the moment my deck is completely bare and I am in dire need of some stylish patio furniture.
