Ohh Sugar Sugar!

Thanks to Kelsey C over at "Far From Safe Harbor" I have been awarded the "Sugar Doll" award! :) The rules state you must share ten things about yourself and then pass the award on to a few lovely bloggers! So here goes:
  1. My husband and I are coming up on our 1 year wedding anniversary and I am happy to say we are more in love than ever! He is my everything, and the best thing in my life. :)
  2.  My favorite season is autumn when the leaves are falling and the air is cool. Theres just something about it that I love!♥
  3. I currently don't have any pets, but I want to get a dog REALLY  bad when my hubby comes home and we are all settled in.
  4. My favorite thing to eat is Mexican food. I could eat it all day, everyday! Right now i am on a huge guacamole kick. ;)
  5. Reading makes me happy! Some of my favorite books are Pride & Prejudice, Jane Eyre and Persuasion.
  6. The beach is my favorite place to be. The sun, sand and waves make for beautiful scenery and I love the feeling of laying out on the beach during a nice summer day. This is probably when I feel the most peaceful.
  7. I am the 2nd oldest of four girls, so technically I'm still a middle child. As my sisters and I have grown up we've realized that we're not only family, but friends.♥
  8. Zooey Deschanel is my favorite actress. I love her quirky sense of humor in all the roles she plays, not to mention her fabulous retro style! She's definitely one of my fashion icons.
  9. Almost my entire family is made up of women! There are seriously hardly any guys in my family...everyone has girls! I have 3 nieces: Bailey, Keira and Bella, and 0 nephews! I wonder if I'll be the one to finally have a boy? ;)
  10. I'm moving to Virginia in 4 weeks and I am terrified! I'm excited for the change in scenery & moving on to the next chapter in our lives, but I'm not so thrilled about the 2700 mile drive I have to do. :( Hopefully it won't be too bad!
Now I must pass along this lovely award so here goes:
Jordan at "Southern Hospitality"
Reina at "Semper Gumby"
Kayla Sue at "In Every Good Love Letter There's a Soldier & His Girl"
Mel at "Head in the Game, Heart in the Sand"
Mrs. Wifey at "Musings of an Army Wife"

I hope you all enjoy your awards and have fun passing them out to some of your favorite blogs! Have a wonderful day!

I have to...but I really don't want to

As our first PCS move gets closer and closer there are a million things I need to get done, and for some strange reason I have NO MOTIVATION to do them! There is only 4 weeks until we I move across the country and have to set up our new house. I am anxious and excited, but also very nervous. So these are some of the things at the top of my list:
  • Clean our room (and I mean really clean, meaning go through everything and get rid of what we don't need anymore and make sure everything is immaculate)
  • Move all of our unopened wedding gifts from the upstairs office to the spare room downstairs to be ready for the movers
  • Complete work receipts and head to the post office to mail them out
  • Compile a list of addresses for my "Bon Voyage" Party and email them to my Mom
  • Go to our college and order transcripts for my husband and I
  • Buy everything on my house list that we still need for our new home
  • Go through my husbands stuff and figure out what were taking, as well as getting all his tools and car stuff together
So after all this I'm sure to be exhausted and ready for a nap, and I highly doubt I will get all of this done today. Does anybody have some ideas to get me motivated? Cause right now I feel like hiding under my bed and ignoring this mountain of chores I have to do....sighhhhh. Oh well at least by the time I get all of this done I will be a few days closer to actually getting this move over with, and believe me, I am soooo ready for this to be over with! Hope you all have a fantastic Monday and sorry for such a boring post, but this is just whats on my mind. Thanks for reading and much love♥.

I'm thankful for you

Normally Father's Day isn't my favorite holiday, because well, my father is not a part of my life. When I was younger it would make me sad, but as I have gotten older and matured I have realized that it is just a fact of life. My mother always did the best she could to take care of my sisters and I, and for that I am so thankful. I hope one day I can be as strong and resilient as she is. I have also come to realize that although I was lacking my real father, the Lord has given me some pretty amazing men to look up to in my life. First of all my Grandfather: he is by no means perfect but loves his family with all his heart. From the time I was three weeks old until I was five we lived in Tennessee near my grandparents. I couldn't have been happier and was so heartbroken when we moved back to California. My Grandpa did everything with us and I still love him so much. He was the one who took me to my ballet and tap lessons and would take me for an ice cream afterward. We would go fishing together: me and my sisters with our kiddie fishing poles, and my Gramps with his real one. Every Sunday we would all go to Church together and have our Sunday dinner at my great Grandma's house. These are some of my earliest and fondest memories. As I grew up and we were separated by 2,000 miles we kept in touch through letters and phone calls and would see each other every summer when he would come to California to visit. I am happy to say that we are still close, and he and my Mom walked me down the aisle last year when my husband and I said "I Do." He also danced with me to what was supposed to be the "father daughter dance" but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. He always knew how to love my sisters and I the way a Father should and I am so thankful to have him as my Grandfather. He holds a very special place in my heart, and although I know he isn't reading this, I love you Grandpa! :)
I have also been blessed enough to have a wonderful father in law. He has welcomed me into his family and although it took some getting used to, I am starting to think I'm growing on him! ;) He has sacrificed so much for his children and always made sure his kids were taken care of before himself. I know my husband looks up to him so much and am thankful for the many times he has helped us out. Today was a pretty relaxed day and I spent most of the day with my mother in law preparing for dinner and running errands. We also washed both of our cars and she even spoiled him a bit and washed his truck. What a great wife! :) We had some home made guacamole and chips, bbq chicken, white rice and salad with baby spinach and avocados! It was a wonderful dinner and I made chocolate pudding for dessert! We enjoyed a nice family evening together and the only thing missing was my husband. I took this photo of my father in law to show his excitement as he said today was "HIS DAY!" lol!

He had us cracking up all day and it was a pretty nice Father's Day after all. :) I was missing my husband more than usual today (holidays are always the hardest) but it made me happy to have such a nice day in spite of him being gone. I hope you all had a lovely Father's Day as well and were able to spend some quality time with your families. :)

Flashback Friday

This photo makes me laugh and smile...partly because my husband is so tan (he looks like an oompa loompa! lol) but also because it brings back great memories. This was taken at his birthday dinner last year at one of our favorite restaurants, Ocean Blue. They have excellent sushi but since I don't really eat the stuff they also have great hibachi specials and I love their tempura! My husband loves Japanese cuisine, because well he is part Japanese and its pretty delicious too! Anyway Happy Friday everyone!♥

Your Talent Amazes Me...

Check out these shoes...can you believe that a friend of my husband's actually made these? I love them!♥ Matt specializes in portraits and he seriously has an amazing gift.
He is so extremely talented and has come such a long way over the past few years. His artwork only seems to get better and better and all I can really say is Matt Anderson, you are AMAZING! So the point of this post was to share with you the shoes Matt made for my husband over two years ago...
These were one of his first pairs that he made and my hubby LOVED these shoes. Unfortunately they have gone through a lot of wear and tear since then and are now in desperate need of replacement! Since my husband loved these shoes so much (and they're pretty much ruined now), my MIL and I decided to get my Hubby some new ones and I'm so excited to see how the next pair turns out, seeing as how Matt is so talented! :) I promise to post some pics as soon as they are done. Now here is some more of Matt's amazing artwork simply for your viewing pleasure! :) Enjoy!
Here is Matt's portrait of James Dean. This one takes my breath away and I have to say is by far my favorite.♥ 24x32 Charcoal on Paper.
This one is Hugh Laurie aka "Dr. House" 16x20 Acrylic on Canvas. I love his eyes in this one! :)
This one is great! I love the expression on his face. Clint Eastwood 14x20 Charcoal on paper.
So my friends as you can see my friend Matthew has been given an amazing talent and is sure to be going places in this world! I can say with confidence one day his art will be famous and I will be able to say "I knew him!" (All the images I've posted are property of Matt Anderson and are all HIS artwork!). Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it! Much love♥!

Movie Madness: What are you watching this week?

Photobucket

For some reason I've been on a movie kick these last few days. Maybe its because all the amazing shows I watch are on hiatus until September and I'm bored outta my mind with no good tv...(well except my soaps...but I donno if you can really call that good tv! Lol..I still love them though). Anyway I've been watching a ton of movies and since we have Netflix on xbox live I can add movies to my instant queue and watch them right then and there! Its pretty amazing and I will admit Netflix is awesome. So what have I been watching? Well I'll tell you...
Photobucket
First It was "When Harry Met Sally" which I had always heard of but NEVER SEEN! I can't believe I waited this long to watch it because it was hilarious and such a good love story. Not to mention Meg Ryan is gorgeous and one of my favorite actresses.♥

Next it was "It Could Happen To You" with Nicholas Cage. This movie I had seen before, but I especially love it because its based on a true story! Plus its a super sweet love story and Nicholas Cage looks great in his sexy cop uniform! ;)

Then it was "The Breakfast Club" which of course I had seen but I LOVE watching again anyways. Theres just something about this movie. I love it!
Photobucket

Last But not least is one of my new FAVORITES "The Proposal."  I actually saw this in theaters with one of my besties and its just hilarious! Sandra Bullock is fabulous in this film, and not to mention Ryan Reynolds is a SMOKIN' HOT FOX! Seriously...hes gorgeous!♥
Photobucket
So that leads me to my question for today...What are you watching this week? Are there any movies you're LOVIN' right now?? If so leave me a comment...I would love to know what you're all watching and if you have any recommendations please leave them! Thanks for reading my lovelies!♥

Wordless Wednesday

This picture still makes me smile! My niece Bailey and I were having a good time messing around and being silly one day while my hubby was in boot camp. I've pretty much lived at my older sister's house for the past 8 months my husband has been gone! Lol anyway here are the rest in our series! Enjoy!
Bailey is the master of "silly faces" Lol. :) She's my Love bug...♥
And my personal favorite...the "Mad face" photo..hehe. This one still makes me chuckle. :) Hope you liked our silly photos and have a great day!♥

Nothing But Blue Skies From Now On...

Today I'm a woman on a mission. :) Anyone who knows me knows that I am a planner and I like to have all my ducks in a row, so to speak. So this morning I was up before 7 am and ready to start my day. Now its 5:30 pm  and I'm pooped but I'm very proud of everything I got done! Since we got paid  it was a day of paying bills, (we all know how that goes) and we are trying our hardest to save money for our pcs move next month. I also managed to go to AAA (once again, they are amazing!) and get our trip ticket for the move. They gave me tons of free books and brochures on all the areas we're gonna be passing through and helped us plan our route. I'm excited cause we might be able to meet up with my Grandparents for lunch in Tennessee on the way to Virginia. I'm so happy that they will only be 12 hours away instead of a million! Lol, ok so I was exaggerating a bit, but still, I love them dearly and have always hated being so far away from them. I also ordered my homecoming dress today! :) I'm so excited and I wanted to thank everyone who weighed in and gave their opinions on which dress I should choose. I went with the second dress, but why tell you when I can just show you?!? :)
I am hoping my hubby loves this dress as much as I do, and I can't wait until it arrives! ModCloth is amazing and I am in LOVE with their dresses! Anyway, I'm feeling good today and I also got a wonderful phone call from my husband. I will admit I had been a little bummed these last few weeks because of our lack of communication but he is certainly trying harder to keep in contact with me, which I love. Just hearing his voice made me so happy...I always have a great day after having a sweet conversation with the man of my dreams!♥ After we got off the phone I was all smiles and singing "Blue Skies" all day! Lol...What can I say I am a lucky girl to have such a wonderful Husband! :) Anyway I hope you are all having a wonderful and blessed day, and as always thanks for reading and much love!♥

Beautiful Blogs

Thank you to Staci at "Rambling Military Wife" and Samantha at "Navy Doll" for awarding me with The "Beautiful Blog" Award. I'm touched that you both thought of me! And now I would like to pass the award on to:
I love reading all your blogs and love the different perspectives you each bring to the table. I think you are simply lovely!♥ As always thanks for reading and much love!♥

What Do You Think?

I know its still awhile away but the weeks have been flying by, so I figured its time to start looking for a homecoming dress! I want something pretty and fun and I have already found a few contenders. What do you think?
I love this one because of the pattern and cut of the dress...its simply gorgeous! Not to mention the cute little bow in the front. :)
This one is probably tied for first in my mind with the dress above. I love that its dressy but also not too fancy. The lace detailing at the top and the cute buttons certainly tickle my fancy! I also love the rouching at the waist line.♥
This next dress is just adorable...navy blue is one of my favorite colors and I love how they combined it with the floral print on top. :)
And last but certainly not least theres this little dress...I love the doves on the dress...I'm addicted to patterns if you couldn't tell... ;)
So now I need your help Ladies! Tell me what you think about these dresses...are there any that are homecoming worthy? I would love your input and advice cause I need to make a decision soon! Thanks lovelies♥
