Weekend Bliss

Is it just me or does it seem like the whole week drags until you get to the weekend? Then time seems to fly by and before you know it, Monday is here again. I wish there were a way to have five days of weekend and two days of work. That would be amazing.

This past weekend was the first weekend I've had off and been able to sleep in for three whole months!! It was delightful and flew by in a flash. Friday night I was on such a high for some reason and after working ten and a half hours was hyper all night!

Sarah, her hubby and I went to dinner at one of my favorite places, texas roadhouse. Of course we had to get some delicious fried pickles and a frozen peach margarita. It's just a must. ;) I also got a loaded baked potato and an amazing sirloin steak.
After the movie we headed to my favorite theater and saw Captain America. I was dying to see this based on the previews looking so great, but I was highly disappointed. I HATED the ending, and when I say hate I mean it.
The whole movie there is this love stroy going on between him and the main girl and they only kiss once the entire movie. Call me a sap, but I was expecting a little more than that. Booooo. Chris Evans did look pretty handsome though. ;)

Saturday Sarah and I had our first adventure together at Garden Ridge. I had never been and can I just say that I am in love? They have soooo many neat things there!!!

I wanted to buy the entire store but I settled for a few new things for our apartment. It definitely needed a little revamping. I promise I am going to post some photos soon. ;)

Sunday was an early morning filled with cleaning my apartment, doing laundry and getting ready to have Sarah and her hubby over for a swim in our lovely salt water pool and dinner afterwards. I made fiesta lime chicken, spicy corn on the cob, home made pasta salad and some toast.
It was delicious!! It should probably be a crime how much I love food. I love to cook, but I think its mostly because I love to eat. ♥
For dessert I made strawberry shortcake. Just like my mom makes it. And it tasted just as good! Thanks Mom for being such a naturally good cook. ;) I think you passed it on to me.

My weekend was so jam packed with fun stuff, shopping, cleaning, and then relaxing that it was simply blissful. Ending it with a great dinner and dessert Sunday night made things even better and by the end of the day I was exhausted, (in a good way) and ready for bed.

I'm so thankful for the amazing people God has put in my life and for all my blessings. I have really felt happier the past few days and have gained a peace in my heart about a lot of things going on in my life. I finally feel like there is hope for me. And it's a really amazing feeling. ♥

Happy days are here again

Happy Friday my lovelies! Today nothing can rain on my parade because I am having a fabulous day...I got off work early and am feeling a lot better than I have been the past week. :-)

Tonight I am going out with my friend Sarah to get some grub and watch "Bad Teacher." In a few hours I'll be enjoying a margarita somewhere and loving life.
I hope everyone has a fun and relaxing Friday night! ♥

Weekend Fun

I can't believe the weekend is over already! Where did it go? I guess I should be thankful that the days are passing quickly, but at the same time I wish I had some more "me" time to relax.

Friday morning when I was up getting ready for work, I turned on the tv to see Katie Couric in London talking about the "Royal Wedding," and I was sooo sad that I was gonna miss it because I had to work all day. Of course I got off work late, and had my buddy Sarah over for pizza and some girl talk. :)

Sadly I had to get up and go to work on Saturday, and it literally took me half an hour to get up and out of bed. I was so EXHAUSTED!!! I feel like I have been going and going lately, but unlike the energizer bunny I'm starting to slow down and lose my energy! Luckily I was able to take a nap and then catch a special on the Royal Wedding after I woke up.
Thank goodness for MSNBC! They went over practically every detail of the wedding, so even though I was a day late I still got to see this memorable moment in history. I absolutely adored Kate's dress and couldn't believe how gorgeous she was.
She looked like something out of a fairy tale and I thought the whole affair was just lovely. ♥ I especially liked when they kissed on the balcony. :)
Once i had my fill of all the sappy romance a wedding brings, it was time to get ready for a night out with Sarah. We headed to Guadalajaras for some Mexican food and some margaritas! :) We had an awesome time and even got some free drinks!
Sarah even had a shot of tequila for me! ;)
We ended up staying for a few hours before going to rent some movies and have a sleep over at Sarah's house. By the end of the night I was soooooo tired, and we literally fell asleep in about ten seconds!

I was a little bummed cause my hubby had been trying to call me all night while we were sleeping, but my phone was on vibrate and I was so tired that I didn't even hear it! It was ok though cause luckily he called back later on and I was able to talk to him for awhile. ♥ After we got ready and dressed for the day we headed out to run some errands and do a little shopping. I think the two of us is a deadly combination in the shopping department. I think we both need to find a "shopaholics anonymous" here in va beach, lol! I really love hanging out with Sarah and feel very lucky to have made such a good friend out here. We laugh a lot and always have a great time! :)

I am also proud to say that my hubby and I have been very good about trying to save and pay off all of our credit cards. We have already paid off three since he left and only have a few more. Luckily they are pretty small amounts and we are canceling a few of them so we don't get into more debt in the future. It feels soooo good to be on our way to being DEBT FREE!!!! Woo-hoo!! :) Anyway my loves, its almost my bed time and since I have another early and long work day tomorrow I must say good night! Hope you all had a great weekend! :o)

Birthday Margaritas And My Easter Sunday!

Since my birthday fell on Easter Sunday this year, I decided to "officially" celebrate it on Saturday. My love Sarah and I decided we NEEDED some birthday margaritas from Texas Roadhouse....and don't forget the fried pickles!!!! Mmmmmm...we went all out and it was so much fun hanging out with Sarah and her hubby.
This was actually my first time drinking a frozen margarita...can you believe that? I think it was a good thing considering how much I liked it...I'll probably be drinking them all the time now! ;) After we finished stuffing our faces like our food was going to disappear, we headed to the Mall and did a little retail therapy. ♥ I happened to find another gorgeous dress for 50% off at Aeropostale and they give a military discount so I got an extra 10% off. Score!!!! My mom would be so proud, she's the one who taught me how to bargain hunt. :)

I think we dragged poor Joshua all over the entire mall, so he was beginning to act a little loopy. We were busy trying to pick out some sunnies at pacsun when he tried these on and I HAD to take his picture! Lol!
He's pretty fabulous right? Gotta love the toothpick in his mouth and the popped collar. So classy! ;) lol!

We also hit up Hot topic where I found this adorable little cupcake lip gloss. Its coconut flavored and I absolutely love it! ♥
Sometimes it's the little things in life that make a girl happy. :) I also found this amazing turquoise nail polish by black poppy while we were on our search for sunnies.
For some reason I didn't end up getting any, but we were having so much fun trying on all the different ones. I really liked these ones! :)
Look at us! That is double trouble for sure, and we even got asked if we were sisters which we both thought was funny. ;)
After roaming the entire mall for sales and just being silly, we decided it was time for the movie. We got some popcorn and went to see "Water For Elephants."
This movie was spectacular. I loved every minute of it. The story takes place in 1931, so I loved the vintage feel and look of the film...the costumes, hair and makeup were amazing! Reese Witherspoon looked even more gorgeous than usual and Robert Pattinson was looking pretty hunky as well. ;)
Although I didn't hear from my hubby that day, (stupid comms!) he did manage to send me flowers, a beanie baby and a sweet card. I also got my very own Coach bag! ♥ This is my first Coach purse and I am in LOVE with it! :)

I'll admit I was still bummed about not being able to see or talk to my husband this weekend, which I've already complained enough about...but I did get to talk to him today for a few minutes, which made me really happy. I know I need to try harder to be understanding about him being gone and not having control over certain things...and I know he does love me and want to be with me, otherwise he wouldn't have done all this for my bday. I guess it's easy to assume the worst when you can't talk at all and I think I was just going a little crazy, but I'm trying to be better and not get upset so easily.

Anyway, overall Saturday was a GREAT day and I just wanted to say thank you to Sarah and Josh for making me feel loved and special!♥
Sunday was Easter and my actual birthday, so I headed to my other good friends Megan and Brian's house. Megan is Italian and is the best cook ever...we had stuffed mushrooms, ham, mashed potatoes, rolls, and a ton of other stuff. I always look forward to eating her cooking. :) They were sweet enough to get me a birthday cake and a cute card, which was nice. I can't remember the last time I had an actual birthday cake.
I got to wear my Easter Dress which I picked out especially for that day. I love it!♥
Overall it was a fabulous weekend and I really felt like my friends tried very hard to cheer me up and make sure I had a good time. I am so blessed to have made such sweet friends. ♥ I was bummed and missing my husband but I still managed to make myself get out of bed and try to put a smile on my face. Each day I'm hoping it'll get a little easier and I'm so thankful for the blessings I do have in my life. I hope you all had a Great Easter and were able to spend it with family and friends!
